The Audubon Society had birdwatching walk nearby and we saw several monarchs in addition to the mourning doves, coots, mallards, finches, sparrows, and gulls. Funny how much better they look with binoculars. Zooming my camera rarely provides better photos. Ah, well. I hope you're seeing bunches of pollinators this month.

It looks like another wonderful quilt is in the making Ann! I'm very envious of your sunshine and warmth on such a cold and miserable day here.
ReplyDeleteSpring is here. We've been traveling. Snowing in one city while it hits 90 at home. I dread the long, hot summer.
DeleteWe don't have any butterflies yet. Then again, there were virtually none last year. The idiots in my 'hood spray for mosquitos every three weeks, and I have no fireflies, no bees, no butterflies. I can't stop them from spraying!

I'm sorry you can't get them to stop spraying. OTOH, mosquitos can carry many bad bugs.
DeleteLove the circles design! That's going to look superb and bring on the butterflies yes! Havent seen any here yet, though there was one alone last month that made me hopeful. We have had a mild winter so it seems as if many of the bugs and flies have survived, mind you theres been greenfly on my hellebore plants and I would wish them far, far away lol

ReplyDeleteSpring hasn't sprung here yet, but do a lot here with our garden to attract butterflies and bees. My favorite pollinators are the sphinx moths which look like hummingbirds until you look closer.

DeleteThey look like the snake quilt I'm making and looks similar to a drunkard's path too (also a UFO of mine in stripes and dots). I'd like to make a NYB but I don't like paper piecing. Hey, maybe an improv NYB would be in order with no pp!
