Regaining Energy

It may not seem like much to you but I sewed these three centers of the Shadow Stars in one afternoon. For the past month I've only been sewing one a week. Guess I'm getting stronger.

Three blocks with white star points and compass points of blue, and green

I'm still thinking about the sashing and posts but decided it would be easier with centers. And here we are.

Enjoy the day, Ann

I am glad you are feeling better. Getting your energy back seems to be the hardest thing to get back once you have been ill or had surgery. I am speaking from experience! The blocks are so beautiful. They are going to make a fabulous quilt! Take care!

Thanks, Patty. It is amazing how long it takes to get back to normal, isn't it?

Thanks, Julie. I'm glad to be on the mend.

Thanks.

I can tell I had no energy because sewing tired me out. At the end of each week I'd realize how little I'd done. I hope you are feeling better.

How kind of you to write.

Thanks, Linda. It's fun to work on something completely different from anything else online.

Thanks, Audrey. Mixing colors with so much white makes them so much softer. I'm curious how this will turn out but I've been wanting an old-fashioned quilt with lots of white for a while.

Thank you, Marie.

Thanks, Robin. I'm so glad to get some energy. I haven't seen these blocks anywhere but by aunt's quilt and the newspaper clipping my cousin sent years ago.

You are having a great time teaching and speaking. I can't wait to hear all about your travels.

Thanks, Maureen. It's not a penguin. Not sure what kind of bird. The print is slightly out-of-focus; probably on purpose.

Glad to hear you have a little energy to sew. Those blocks are gorgeous. Like Robin, I have never seen any like them either. They sure have a vintage vibe.

You're not half as glad as I am, Cathy. It feels like I've been in a cave for months. I'm glad you like the blocks, too. I want to work with white backgrounds this time for that old-fashioned feel.

Thanks. It's good to feel stronger.

Tiny steps and patience are the way to go. In the meantime, three blocks seems like good progress and I'm glad you felt up to doing it.
